Why ACSF?

Our Purpose – Any City Sports Fan

Love your local team but always traveling for work?

Be a fan even when you travelAccording to the U.S. Travel Association, over 48 percent of U.S. adults reported traveling by air for business purposes in 2009. That number doesn’t include people who travel by car for business purposes. If you think about it that means over half of U.S. adults have to travel for business purposes at least once a year. So what is a sports fan to do? Where do you go to watch your team when you are traveling? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could find out what bar is showing your team’s game near the hotel where you are staying for business? Wouldn’t it be even better if you could actually meet up with other fans while you are away on business?

AnyCitySportsFan.com was created just for you!

Missing your home team in your new city?

Be a fan even if you moveFan bases are increasingly dispersed geographically. There are Cardinals fans in Chicago and Cubs fans in New York City. By looking at the volume of merchandise shipped outside of a team’s local market, Fanatics (the online store that sells licensed apparel for the NFL, NBA, NCAA, MLB and NHL) has found that the percentage of “displaced fans” is significant. They’ve discovered that 74 percent of NFL fans, 69 percent of NBA fans, 67 percent of NCAA fans, 63 percent of MLB fans and 54 percent of NHL fans root for teams that do not play in the state where they live. Think about that: More than half of every major North American sports team’s fans are not local.

This is why we created AnyCitySportsFan.com, so you can hang out with fellow fans of your home team, even though you moved 1,000 miles away.
